Semiprozine.org

About

At the 2008 Worldcon, a motion was put forward to eliminate the Best Semiprozine Hugo Award. This website was initially created to rally the troops and demonstrate why this would be a bad idea. When the final vote occurred at the 2009 Worldcon, the tides turned and the award was saved. In the aftermath, a much-needed committee was formed to re-evaluate the criteria for the Best Semiprozine Hugo and related Hugos.

This website will continue on. Originally SAVESEMIPROZINE.ORG, SEMIPROZINE.ORG will continue to represent what is going on with these publications, highlight their achievements and keep you up to date on what is happening regards to that Semiprozine committee. A few of us even have some ideas on how we can help promote one another and help keep the category in people’s minds.

If you represent a semiprozine/fanzine/prozine and would like to join us, please feel free to email me. We’d be more than happy to have you on board.

Thank you,

About

Semiprozine.org was originally founded as SaveSemiprozine.org when the Best Semiprozine Hugo Award was in danger of being eliminated. After successfully saving the category, it was decided that this site should continue to serve as a central point of communication from and about semiprozines. We will also be reporting on the efforts of the committee that has been charged with redefining the criteria for the Best Semiprozine Hugo.
